Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos arrived in Tanzania on Tuesday for a three-day official visit aimed at enhancing diplomatic and regional cooperation between the two nations.

He was received at Julius Nyerere International Airport by Tanzania’s Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Shaib Mussa, alongside senior ministry officials including Ambassador Swahiba Mndeme, Director for Europe and the Americas.

Kombos is accompanied by a six-member delegation comprising senior diplomats and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cyprus, including ambassadors and representatives from the Departments of Political Affairs and African Affairs.

The visit, running from July 8 to 10, underscores Cyprus’s intention to deepen strategic ties with Tanzania through high-level political dialogue and sectoral cooperation.

During his stay, Minister Kombos is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Tanzanian counterpart, Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.

The two leaders are expected to sign key memoranda of understanding, including agreements on political consultations and maritime cooperation.

In addition to his official engagements, Kombos will participate in a bilateral business forum involving the European Business Group in Tanzania and the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

The forum is expected to explore new avenues for trade, investment, and private sector collaboration between Cyprus, the European Union, and Tanzania.

The visit reflects a broader push by both nations to expand their foreign policy footprints and strengthen partnerships that support regional peace, development, and economic growth.
