Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Vice Chairman (Mainland), Mr. Stephen Wasira, has cautioned Tanzanians and party supporters against being swayed by opposition slogans, urging instead for focus and preparation ahead of the upcoming general election.

Speaking during a working visit in Tunduru District, Ruvuma Region, Mr. Wasira dismissed political messages from the main opposition party, CHADEMA, as “hollow rhetoric,” saying the party has a history of prioritizing slogans over substance.

Among the slogans he critiqued were “No Reforms, No Election,” “Movement for Change (M4C),” and “No Hate No Fear,” which he said CHADEMA uses to garner attention without offering tangible alternatives.

“CHADEMA has become a factory for slogans—one for every issue. But Tanzanians have matured politically. They now seek action, not empty words,” Mr. Wasira said during his address to CCM members and delegates at the district's general meeting.

He emphasized that CCM remains committed to delivering results through implementation of its manifesto and public policies, in contrast to what he called “emotionally driven narratives” from the opposition.

The Vice Chairman's visit is part of a broader strategy to galvanize CCM’s grassroots network, energize district leaders, and lay the groundwork for a strong showing in the forthcoming local government polls and the 2025 general election.

Calling for unity and preparation, Mr. Wasira urged Tanzanians—especially CCM members and supporters—to turn out in large numbers during the elections.

“October is around the corner. Let’s get ready to vote. We must support our candidate, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, and her running mate, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi. It’s time to KUTIKI (vote) with purpose,” he said.

Mr. Wasira’s remarks come as political parties across the country intensify efforts to consolidate their bases ahead of what is expected to be a competitive electoral season.
