Senior communication officers from three Tanzanian government agencies met this week in the capital, Dodoma, to explore ways to strengthen coordination and improve service delivery in rural areas.
The meeting brought together Martha Chassama, head of Public Relations and Communication at the Rural Energy Agency (REA); Catherine Sungura, head of Public Relations and Communication at the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA); and Athumani Shariff, head of Public Relations and Marketing at the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA).
Officials said the discussions focused on building institutional capacity and enhancing collaboration as the agencies work to expand access to essential services in Tanzania’s rural communities.
The REA, TARURA, and RUWASA play a central role in the government’s efforts to improve rural livelihoods by expanding infrastructure and essential public services. Many rural communities in Tanzania still face challenges accessing electricity, reliable transportation, and safe drinking water.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the government to foster greater inter-agency cooperation in the delivery of development programs.
