Tanzania’s Minister of Health, Jenista Mhagama, has acted swiftly on a directive from President Samia Suluhu Hassan by visiting victims of a recent road traffic accident in Meatu District, Simiyu Region. The injured are currently receiving care at Bugando Zonal Referral Hospital in Mwanza.

The visit, conducted on June 17, follows a serious accident earlier this week. The Minister confirmed that five individuals remain hospitalized in stable condition and are receiving continued treatment.

In line with the President’s orders, Minister Mhagama directed that all medical costs for the victims be fully covered by the government, underscoring the administration’s commitment to public welfare and emergency healthcare response.

The government’s rapid intervention highlights a broader push to improve emergency medical services and road safety in Tanzania, as infrastructure expansion across the country accelerates.
