Seven swimmers to represent Tanzania at upcoming World Championships

Tanzania’s swimming scene continues to gain momentum as seven talented swimmers prepare to showcase their skills on the global stage in two prestigious world championships scheduled for 2025.

The country will be represented by a strong contingent at the World Aquatic Junior Swimming Championship in Romania from August 15 to 25, and the World Aquatic Swimming Championship in Singapore from July 24 to August 4.

In the junior category, five promising swimmers have earned the honor to compete internationally, carrying the hopes of a nation eager to see its young athletes excel. 

The team comprises Filbertha Demello, Bridget Heep, Romeo-Mihaly Mwaipasi, Austin Okore, and Mark Tibazarwa

These swimmers are expected to deliver strong performances and gain critical experience against the best young talents worldwide.

The senior team, meanwhile, will feature two of Tanzania’s top swimmers, Collins Saliboko and Michael Joseph, who will compete among the world’s elite in Singapore. 

Their participation underscores Tanzania’s growing presence in international aquatic sports and highlights the progress made by the country’s swimming programs.

Sports enthusiasts and stakeholders across Tanzania have been called upon to rally behind the swimmers, providing unwavering support as they carry the nation’s flag at these highly competitive events.
