Singida — In a move aimed at enhancing transparency and strengthening stakeholder relations in Tanzania’s mineral sector, the Mining Commission officially launched its Communication Strategy today at the Singida Resident Mines Office.

The event also featured an awareness session on the forthcoming Brand Manual, designed to standardize the Commission’s visual identity and messaging across all platforms.

Presiding over the launch, Engineer Sabai Nyansiri, Resident Mines Officer for Singida, hailed the strategy as a milestone in how the Commission engages with the public and industry stakeholders.

“This strategy marks a new chapter in how we communicate. It’s not just about messaging—it’s about building trust, sharing opportunities, and ensuring every Tanzanian feels they are part of the mining story,” said Eng. Nyansiri.

The Communication Strategy outlines five core areas: public outreach, media engagement, internal communication, crisis communication, and stakeholder coordination.

It is designed to support the Commission’s commitment to managing the sector transparently and inclusively, while ensuring that accurate and timely information reaches all audiences.

“For too long, communication has been treated as an afterthought in public institutions. This strategy places it at the center of how we operate,” Eng. Nyansiri added.

“We want to ensure that miners, investors, community members, and government officials all receive the right information at the right time.”he added

Participants at the launch were also briefed on the upcoming Brand Manual, currently undergoing final review.

Once released, the manual will provide clear guidelines on the use of logos, official colors, fonts, and tone of voice, ensuring a cohesive and professional identity for the Commission.

Speaking at the event, the Commission’s Communication and Public Relations Manager, who spearheaded the development of the strategy, emphasized the broader significance of the initiative.

“We are aligning our communication with our strategic objectives—transparency, inclusivity, and professionalism,” she said.

“A strong, consistent voice will not only enhance public trust, but also attract responsible investment and strengthen collaboration across the mining value chain.”he added

She added that the new strategy is also designed to empower staff within the Commission.“Internal communication is just as important as what we say publicly. This strategy ensures our team is informed, engaged, and aligned in delivering on our mandate,” she explained.

The strategy reflects the Commission’s broader efforts to raise awareness about opportunities across the mineral sector, from exploration and processing to trading and service provision.

It also reinforces the importance of citizen participation and private-sector collaboration in driving growth in the extractive industry.

With its newly stated vision of becoming “a hub for exploration and sustainable mining in Africa”, and a mission focused on supervising and regulating exploration, mining, beneficiation, and mineral trade for sustainable development, the Commission is positioning itself as a model institution in the region. Its strategic communication goal is clear: to foster trust, strengthen branding, and deepen stakeholder engagement.

“We are not just communicating to be seen or heard,” said the Public Relations Manager in closing. “We are communicating to build lasting relationships, inform decision-making, and ultimately deliver impact in Tanzania’s mining sector.”he added

The Communication Strategy launch in Singida is expected to serve as a blueprint for similar initiatives in other regions, reinforcing the role of effective communication in good governance and sustainable development within Tanzania’s extractive industries.
