Kariakoo Derby rescheduled to June 25

Dar es salaam – The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has announced the rescheduling of the highly anticipated NBC Premier League clash between traditional rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga) and Simba SC.

The match, originally set for Sunday, June 15, will now be played on Tuesday, June 25 at 11:00 PM at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

In a statement issued by the TPLB Media Department, both clubs were urged to continue their preparations ahead of what is expected to be one of the season’s most thrilling fixtures.

The rescheduling comes following a recent engagement by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who on Friday held talks with leaders of both clubs at State House, Chamwino in Dodoma.

The meeting underscored the government's continued support for the development of sports and its commitment to fostering unity through football.

The Kariakoo Derby, as it is widely known, remains the most anticipated football event in the country, drawing massive local and international attention.
