Tanzania will field four players at the upcoming Commonwealth Billiards Championships, set to take place from 2–6 July at the Ravenala Attitude Hotel in Mauritius.
The annual event, organised under the auspices of the Commonwealth Games Federation, brings together elite cue sport players from across member states in a celebration of sporting excellence and cultural exchange.
The Tanzania Pool Association (TAPA) has confirmed that Abdallah Hussein, Mkubwa Dotto, Cecilia Pendael, and Judith Machafuko will represent the country at the tournament.
Speaking to The Respondent, TAPA Secretary General Abdallah Omar Abdallah said the team is currently in intensive training camp under national head coach Denis Lungu.
“The players are in excellent form and fully focused on the task ahead. Morale is high, and we’re confident they will compete with determination and professionalism,” he said.
He added that logistical arrangements and preparations have been completed, ensuring that the athletes will travel well-supported and ready to perform.
This marks another key step in Tanzania’s growing presence in international cue sports, with the team hoping to make a strong impression on the Commonwealth stage.
