Yanga Princess to face JKT Queens in tough clash

By Flora Mkoloma

Yanga Princess are set to go head-to-head with JKT Queens in a crucial Tanzania Women’s Premier League encounter tomorrow at the Meja General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

JKT Queens will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing home defeat to Simba Queens in their previous outing. Meanwhile, Yanga Princess enter the match with momentum on their side, having edged Simba Queens 1-0 in their last game.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Yanga Princess head coach Edna Lema expressed confidence in her squad’s readiness for the challenge.

We are fully prepared to face JKT Queens,” Lema said. “It’s going to be a tough, competitive match. If you want to prove your quality, you have to go up against strong teams like JKT.”

She also reflected on their previous victory over JKT Queens in Arusha and stressed the importance of consistency.

We beat them in Arusha, but if we lose tomorrow, people might think that win was just a fluke. That’s why we have to fight hard and secure another positive result,” she added.

Coach Lema concluded by reaffirming her ambition for the season: to maintain a winning streak through to the final match of the league campaign.
