Ms. Samira Khalfan, a member of the CCM Executive Committee member in Kagera region and the Economic, Finance and Planning Committee of the Union of Tanzania women (UWT) at National level, yesterday May 11, marked World Mother's Day with a heartfelt visit to Kabindi Primary School in Biharamulo district, where she engaged with pupils with special needs.
This initiative aimed to demonstrate love and solidarity while providing comfort to those pupils on that special occasion.
During her visit, Ms. Samira celebrated by sharing cakes with both the pupils and teachers, creating a joyful atmosphere for those who often miss out on such social gatherings. As part of her support for the school, she donated large water storage tanks, addressing the critical issue of access to clean water—which is essential for fostering a conducive learning environment, particularly for special needs children who require closer health care.
Acknowledging the efforts of local leaders, Ms. Samira expressed her gratitude to Hon. Ezra Chiwelesa, the Western Biharamulo Constituency MP, for his generous contribution of 50 mattresses to the school. To further enhance the comfort and hygiene of the students residing in school dormitories, she donated 30 bed sheets, ensuring that those children feel valued and appreciated, much like their school mates.
In addition to material support, Ms. Samira also provided a financial incentive to the teachers, stressing the importance of caring for and motivating educators who work with special needs students.
In her address to students, teachers, and parents, she urged the community to continue nurturing children with special needs by providing them with love, support, and a better learning environment.
Ms. Samira emphasized that every child deserves the opportunity to enjoy life and receive a quality education, regardless of their health or physical challenges. Her visit highlighted the importance of inclusivity and compassion in the community, reinforcing the idea that all children have the right to thrive.
