Simba Sports Club has made a remarkable impression in the May awards, with striker Steven Mukwala clinching the Best Player award for the NBC Premier League 2024/2025 season. Meanwhile, Fadlu Davids was named Best Coach for the month of May.

Mukwala demonstrated outstanding performance and continuous improvement, edging out competitors Jean Charles Ahoua of Simba and Jafari Kibaya of Mashujaa, who also reached the finals in the award selection process conducted by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Awards Committee.

During the month, Mukwala played in four matches, scoring three goals and assisting another, contributing significantly to his team’s success over a total of 233 minutes on the pitch.

Fadlu Davids earned his place in the coaching finals alongside Miloud Hamdi of Yanga and Rachid Taoussi of Azam.

Under his leadership, Simba won all five matches played in May, maintaining their strong position in second place in the Premier League standings.

Simba’s notable victories for the month included a 1-0 win against Singida Black Stars, a 1-0 triumph over KMC, an impressive 5-1 win against Pamba Jiji, a 2-1 victory over Mashujaa, and a narrow 1-0 win versus JKT Tanzania.

In other awards, Ashrafu Omar of General Isamuhyo Stadium was recognized as Stadium Manager of the Month.

For the NBC Championship, Frank Edmund of African Sports was honored as Best Player, while Malale Hamsini of Mbeya City took home the Best Coach award.
