Four top teams will battle it out today in the semi-finals of the Higher Education and Samia Cup, taking place at JMK Park in Dar es Salaam on May 4, 2025.

The first semi-final match will feature the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) taking on St. Joseph University at 5:00 PM.

The second match will see the Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) face off against the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) at 7:00 PM under the floodlights.

Tournament organizer Cornerio Swai told The Respondent Online that preparations are 100% complete and everything is in place for an exciting evening of football.

“We’re ready. The teams are prepared, and now we’re just waiting for kickoff. These matches will determine the finalists and ultimately the champion of this year’s tournament,” Swai said.

He expressed confidence in the quality and competitiveness of the semi-finals, emphasizing that all four teams have trained hard for this stage.

“What makes this event even more special is that, in support of our President’s efforts, she will address the students live via mobile network during the event,” he added.

Swai also noted that several distinguished guests are expected to attend the matches in a show of support for President Samia Suluhu Hassan, whom he praised as the nation's number one advocate for sports.
