Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania,Kassim Majaliwa, has arrived in Mwanza Region today for a multi-day working tour to inspect and inaugurate a range of key development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and service delivery in the region.
The Prime Minister was received at Mwanza Airport by Mwanza Regional Commissioner Said Mtanda, Minister for Works Abdallah Ulega, along with other senior government officials and leaders from the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
Speaking to the press upon arrival, Prime Minister Majaliwa reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to regional development and accountability in public service delivery.
“We are here to ensure that the projects underway are being implemented effectively, efficiently, and with the people’s interests at heart. Development must be felt at the grassroots level,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes visits to ongoing road construction projects, healthcare and education facilities, and the inauguration of several completed infrastructure projects.
Regional Commissioner Said Mtanda welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit, describing it as a strong endorsement of Mwanza’s strategic importance in Tanzania’s development agenda.
“This visit is a source of great encouragement. It demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting Mwanza’s transformation into a regional economic hub,” he noted.
Minister for Works Abdallah Ulega emphasized that the projects being inspected are aligned with Tanzania’s broader goals of inclusive development and national cohesion.
“These infrastructure investments are not just about roads and buildings they are about improving lives. Mwanza is vital to our economy, and we are ensuring it has the infrastructure to match its potential,” said Minister Ulega.
During the tour, the Prime Minister will engage with local communities, inspect flagship development programs, and hold consultations with regional leaders to assess progress and address challenges.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to delivering on the promises outlined in the country’s Third Five-Year Development Plan and Vision 2025.
