In a bold move to boost regional trade and investment in the livestock sector, NMB Bank has announced a sponsorship of 30 million Tanzanian shillings for the upcoming Tri-Nations Livestock Expo 2025.
The international livestock exhibition, set to take place from June 14 to 15, 2025, in Chalinze, is being organised by Mbogo Ranches Company.
It is poised to become a signature event on the regional agricultural calendar, bringing together leading livestock producers, buyers and suppliers from Tanzania, Kenya and Namibia.
Designed to promote cross-border collaboration, the expo aims to unlock new market opportunities, drive innovation and elevate investment within the livestock value chain. Top African livestock breeding institutions and renowned livestock enterprises are expected to participate.
Speaking at the announcement event, Mr Nsolo Mlozi, NMB Bank’s Head of Agribusiness, said the bank’s support demonstrates its deep commitment to modernising Tanzania’s livestock industry.
“This exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to open up the livestock sector to innovation, investment and inclusive growth. It will bring together small and large-scale farmers from Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania to share experiences and learn modern livestock farming techniques that can transform productivity,” he said.
Mr Mlozi noted that livestock is a vital part of Tanzania’s agricultural value chain and a key pillar of the national economy. He added that the bank intends to use the expo to deliver financial literacy programmes, promote livestock insurance and offer affordable financing to farmers across the country — both on the mainland and the islands.
“Our sponsorship reflects our ongoing commitment to being a catalyst for the prosperity and modernisation of the livestock sector,” he said.
According to the organisers, the event has already secured participation from major players in the industry including Mbogo Ranches, Livestock Breeders, Super Game Dealers, and Tanzania Game.
Other expected participants include Silversand Brahman, Mogwooni Boran Stud, OI Pejeta Beef, Kifuku Boran Stud, Tango Maos, Le Roux Dorpers, Simbra Southern Africa, Brand Bush, Woragus Boran Stud, and Sigi von Luttwitz.
Mbogo Ranches Director, Mr Naweed Mulla, welcomed NMB’s sponsorship, describing the expo as a transformative event for Tanzania and the region.
“This is more than just an exhibition, it is a platform for advancing animal genetics, showcasing African excellence in animal husbandry and building partnerships that transcend borders,” Mr Mulla said.
Held under the theme ‘Building Partnerships, Advancing Agriculture’, the 2025 Tri-Nations Livestock Expo is expected to foster sustainable growth in livestock farming and highlight the power of collaboration between pastoralists, private investors and development stakeholders in shaping the future of Africa’s livestock economy.
