Mtibwa Sugar and Mbeya City qualify for NBC Premier League 2025/2026

Mtibwa Sugar have been officially crowned champions of the NBC Championship League for the 2024/2025 season, following a commanding 2-0 victory over Kiluvya United.

The title-deciding match took place today at Manungu Stadium in Morogoro, where the hosts delivered a solid performance to seal their promotion to the NBC Premier League.

From the opening whistle, both teams displayed intent, exchanging attacks in a tightly contested first 35 minutes. However, it was Mtibwa Sugar who broke the deadlock in the 36th minute through striker Razini Razini, sending the home crowd into celebration.

The first half ended with Mtibwa Sugar leading 1-0, and they wasted no time after the restart. Just one minute into the second half, Razini struck again, doubling the lead and firmly placing Mtibwa in control of the match.

Kiluvya United struggled to respond as Mtibwa maintained composure, managing the game efficiently to protect their advantage. 

The final whistle confirmed a 2-0 win and marked the end of an impressive campaign for Mtibwa Sugar.

The victory not only secured three points but also guaranteed Mtibwa Sugar’s return to the NBC Premier League next season. 

They concluded the Championship season at the summit of the table with 71 points  a testament to their consistency, discipline, and ambition throughout the year.

With the title now secured, Mtibwa Sugar will shift focus to preparing for top-tier football, aiming to make a strong impact in the 2025/2026 Premier League season.
