Kagera Sugar’s survival hangs on Kengold vs Pamba Jiji clash

By Flora Mkoloma

The fate of Kagera Sugar in the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League will be determined by the outcome of tomorrow’s crucial match between Kengold and Pamba Jiji.

Kagera Sugar's relegation fears deepened today after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mashujaa FC in a match played at Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba, Kagera Region.

The result leaves Kagera Sugar in 15th place with 22 points from 28 matches—just two games remaining in the season.

Their final fixture is against already-doomed Kengold, who are confirmed to be relegated at the end of the season. That match could be Kagera’s last hope of avoiding the drop, depending on results elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Mashujaa collected three vital points that strengthen their position in the league standings and ease their own relegation concerns.

In another key fixture, Tanzania Prisons kept their slim survival hopes alive with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Coastal Union at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.

Despite the victory, Prisons remain in the relegation zone and face an uphill battle in their remaining matches.
