Josia: We've secured a playoff spot, but the fight isn’t over

Tanzania Prisons head coach Amani Josia has confirmed that his team has at least secured a spot in the relegation playoffs, even though their position in the league is still not entirely safe.

As it stands, Tanzania Prisons has played 28 matches and collected 30 points, with two games remaining in the season.

Speaking to the media, Coach Josia said the team is continuing to fight hard to secure the remaining points and ensure they finish the season in a more secure position.

"We're not out of danger yet, but we’ve at least guaranteed a place in the playoffs. We still have a chance to control our fate and stay safe, no matter who we’re facing. Anyone coming to our home ground we’re ready for them," said Josia.

Tanzania Prisons will face two tough opponents in their final matches: league leaders Yanga SC and Singida Black Stars.

Josia remains optimistic that his side can collect all six remaining points, which would bring their total to 36 and significantly boost their chances of survival.

The battle now is to determine which team will face the winner of the Championship playoff between Geita Gold and Stand United, in a bid to earn a spot in next season’s NBC Premier League.

Meanwhile, Kengold and Kagera Sugar have already been relegated and are preparing to compete in the NBC Championship League next season.
