Dar es salaam,The Deputy Registrar of Political Parties, Sisty Nyahoza, has commended the Community Political Party (CCK) for conducting a free, transparent, and democratic internal election to nominate its presidential candidates for both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Held in Dar es Salaam, the party’s special national conference saw delegates vote to endorse CCK National Chairman, David Daudi Mwaijojele, as the party’s presidential candidate for Mainland Tanzania.
Isha Salum was also unanimously endorsed by the party’s Central Committee to contest the presidency in Zanzibar.
Addressing delegates during the event, Nyahoza applauded the peaceful conduct of the meeting and urged all political parties across the country to prioritize national unity and peace as the general elections approach.
“This gathering is possible because our country enjoys peace. Anyone attempting to disrupt that peace must be firmly opposed,” Nyahoza said.
“Our unity as Tanzanians Zanzibaris and mainlanders alike is our greatest strength. Let us safeguard that unity and engage in politics with dignity, peace, and calm,” he emphasized.
In his acceptance speech, Mwaijojele assured citizens of an inclusive and action-oriented campaign, promising meaningful improvements in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, entrepreneurship, and support for marginalized groups.
“Our goal is to ensure that every Tanzanian enjoys a better quality of life. Once given the mandate through the National Electoral Commission, we will prioritize youth self-employment after graduation and enhance economic opportunities for women,” he said.
For her part, Isha Salum Hamadi expressed pride in becoming the first woman nominated by CCK to run for the presidency in Zanzibar.
She pledged to campaign vigorously and focus on addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, especially persons with disabilities.
“I am honored by the trust placed in me. My mission is to represent every voice particularly those often left behind. Together, we can build a fairer and more inclusive Zanzibar,” she said.
She called on Tanzanians to stand in solidarity by supporting CCK, noting that the party is committed to offering practical solutions to everyday challenges in communities across the nation.
