Singida Black Stars secured a commanding 3-0 win over Tabora United in an NBC Premier League match played on Friday at CCM Liti Stadium in Singida Region, bagging all three points in front of their home fans.
The game began with both sides pressing high and trying to assert dominance early on. For the first 20 minutes, it was an even contest as both teams launched attacks and fiercely defended their goals.
However, the deadlock was broken in the 21st minute when Singida Black Stars’ forward Victorien Adebayor fired home the opening goal, giving the hosts an early advantage. The goal lifted the spirits of the home side and unsettled the visitors, though the scoreline remained unchanged as the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Singida.
After the break, Singida returned with renewed energy and quickly doubled their lead in the 52nd minute. This time, it was Jonnathan Sowah who found the back of the net, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to put his team firmly in control.
Tabora United struggled to respond despite a few promising moves, with Singida’s defense holding strong and neutralizing any potential threats. The match appeared to be heading toward a 2-0 finish, but in the 86th minute, Singida were awarded a penalty following a foul inside the box.
Sowah stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, sealing his brace and extending Singida Black Stars’ lead to 3-0.
As the final whistle blew, Singida Black Stars walked off the pitch with a well-deserved three points, while Tabora United were left to regroup after a tough outing.
The win boosts Singida Black Stars’ position in the league standings, while Tabora United will be hoping to bounce back in their next fixture.
