Simba Sports Club has extended heartfelt thanks to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for her generous contribution towards the team’s preparations for their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup semi-final return leg match against Stellenbosch FC, scheduled to take place on April 27 in South Africa.

The support provided by President Samia includes assistance with travel and accommodation, which will significantly ease the club’s logistical burden as they aim to secure a place in the finals of the prestigious continental tournament.

Speaking on behalf of the club, Simba SC President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mohammed Dewji, expressed deep appreciation for the President’s unwavering commitment to the development of sports in Tanzania, particularly football.

“We are truly grateful to Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her continued support. Her efforts have not only enabled us to participate in international competitions but have also inspired our players and supporters,” said Dewji.

He further acknowledged the impact of the "Mama’s Goal" initiative, which he described as a powerful motivator for both the team and fans across the nation.

“This initiative has brought renewed energy and enthusiasm to Tanzanian football. It’s a testament to the power of leadership in uniting the country through sport,” he added.

Dewji also extended appreciation to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports for their close coordination in organizing the team’s travel.

He highlighted the collective effort by various government institutions that made the journey possible.

“We also wish to thank the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRL), Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), and the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) for their invaluable support in facilitating this trip,” said Dewji.

“This show of unity and national pride demonstrates what we can achieve when we work together. We are proud to represent Tanzania on the international stage, and we are determined to bring honor to our country.”

Simba SC is now fully focused on the crucial encounter in South Africa, where they aim to make history by advancing to the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
