Simba Sports Club has set its sights on reaching the final of the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC), with a strong focus on overcoming Stellenbosch FC in the upcoming semi-final clash.
The Tanzanian football giants are scheduled to face the South African side on April 20, 2025, at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
Speaking today, April 15, in Zanzibar, Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, confirmed that the team will depart for the Isles tomorrow to begin preparations ahead of the crucial fixture.
He emphasized that the training camp is intended to help players adapt to the local environment and build a strong sense of unity before matchday.
“Everyone knows what role they played in getting Simba to this stage players fought hard on the pitch, the management gave their all behind the scenes, and the technical bench implemented winning strategies,” said Ally.
“My appeal is simple whatever effort got us to the semi-finals, we must now triple it. This is our moment to reach the final.”
Ally expressed confidence in the team’s ability to progress, saying Simba has the quality, form, and strategy required to succeed.
“Everything is in place. We have the strength, the momentum, and the good fortune of starting the final away and finishing at home. Why shouldn’t we believe?”
As part of their activities in Zanzibar, Simba will visit Mtoni Kidatu on Saturday, engage with fans at local coffee spots, and end the day at the Kikwajuni branch the club’s first official branch in Tanzania.
“Simba is Simba. You don’t meet a lion and think you won’t be harmed. There’s no such lion. We have no doubts about playing in Zanzibar this is our home, and everything we do at Mkapa Stadium, we’ll do here too,” he declared.
Ticket prices for the semi-final are set at TSh 40,000 for VIP A, TSh 20,000 for VIP B, and TSh 10,000 for general seating.
