Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has reaffirmed that all funds raised will be used strictly for their intended purpose to construct the Bunge Boys’ Secondary School in Dodoma.
Speaking in the capital today, April 2025, during the launch of a special charity run, the Prime Minister applauded Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, and other stakeholders both local and international for their active participation and generous contributions.
“These funds are specifically meant for building the Bunge Boys’ Secondary School, which will accommodate between 300 and 350 students,” said Majaliwa.
He praised his fellow MPs for taking a bold step in shaping the future of Tanzanian boys by investing in education.
“I commend my fellow Members of Parliament for making a lasting impact and changing the lives of our children. This school will offer a valuable opportunity to our boys,” he added.
The planned school, to be constructed in Kikombo, Dodoma close to the girls’ school established by female MPs in 2020—will offer Form Five and Form Six education.
Majaliwa emphasized that this initiative aligns with Parliament’s commitment to support President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to expand and strengthen the education sector.
Designed as a boarding school, the facility will feature four science laboratories for biology, chemistry, physics, and geography a modern library, dining hall, teachers' housing, and sports grounds.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Tulia Ackson, thanked all participants for rallying behind the cause and emphasized Parliament’s role in promoting equal educational opportunities.
“This charity run shows that Parliament truly cares about the future of all children, and we are proud to lead by example,” she said.
Festo Sanga, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Charity Run, said the event aimed to raise funds for the school’s construction, drawing over 4,000 participants in a strong show of support.
