The Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament and Coordination), Dr. Jim Yonazi, has met with the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) management to discuss preparations for the 2025 National Nutrition Stakeholders’ Forum, scheduled to be held in August this year.
During the meeting, held at his office in Dodoma today, Dr. Yonazi underscored the importance of hosting a high-impact and well-coordinated event that aligns with the country’s development priorities, particularly in improving public health and nutrition outcomes.
He urged the TFNC leadership to collaborate closely with the Prime Minister’s Office to ensure the forum brings together key stakeholders, drives strategic dialogue, and results in actionable commitments to advance Tanzania’s nutrition agenda.
“We must work together to deliver a forum that not only meets national expectations but also drives meaningful change across all levels of society,” Dr. Yonazi said.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, including the Director of Policy and Government Coordination, Mr. Paul Sangawe; Head of Communications, Mr. Augustino Tendwa; Acting Head of ICT, Mr. Einhard Mbuge; and Nutrition Coordinator, Ms. Abigael Marwa. Economists Mr. Fredrick Maduma and Ms. Spora Mwakinga were also present.
From the TFNC, the Executive Director, Dr. Germana Leyna, led the delegation, accompanied by staff members including the Centre’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Jackson Monela.
The upcoming forum is expected to convene government officials, development partners, civil society, academia, and private sector actors to review progress, exchange best practices, and strengthen partnerships in the fight against malnutrition.
