Morogoro, April 10, 2025 – The Board of the Forest Company Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of the Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency, has officially commenced its operations after receiving nine strategic directives from the TFS Advisory Board.
Speaking during the board’s inaugural meeting held today in Morogoro, the Chairperson of the TFS Advisory Board, Major General Dr. Mbaraka Mkeremy, emphasized that the company was established as part of TFS’s commercial strategy to initiate and expand business ventures based on forest and beekeeping resources.
“The primary objective of these initiatives is to boost the agency’s revenue and grow businesses that rely on forest and beekeeping resources,” said Major General Dr. Mkeremy.
He further noted that the company will be responsible for preparing project proposals, coordinating investment plans, and reducing TFS’s reliance on government funding.
“Our key measure of success will be the extent to which the company contributes to increasing the agency’s revenue,” he added.

Other priorities include promoting innovation and the use of technology, fostering partnerships with various stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing staff skills and training, and upholding professionalism and integrity in all operations.
