Monduli, Arusha – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has applauded the leadership of Monduli District for successfully addressing land conflicts in the area, following the government’s directive for local leaders to resolve community challenges.

Speaking on April 23, 2025, during the inauguration of the newly constructed Migungani Secondary School, Dr. Biteko commended the district authorities for their dedication to the welfare of residents.

“I want to congratulate the leadership of Monduli District for their impressive efforts in resolving land-related challenges. I have been informed that a significant portion of these issues have already been successfully addressed. Well done,” he said.

He particularly praised the committee chaired by the District Commissioner, comprising various professionals, for their structured approach in receiving and resolving citizens’ complaints.

He urged them to also initiate public education campaigns on land matters.

Dr. Biteko also lauded the local community for their commitment to building Migungani Secondary School, which is now 85 percent complete, with the government contributing TSh 500 million towards the project.

“Education is a major pillar of development. This school stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we work together. It will serve up to 400 students and contribute significantly to the growth of this district,” he stated.

He encouraged students to take good care of the infrastructure and focus on their studies with determination, reminding them that education is a tool for becoming patriotic, responsible citizens capable of solving real-life problems.

Turning to energy development, Dr. Biteko revealed that the government plans to implement a major electricity project in Monduli this year.

The initiative aims to enhance power supply in the district, including the Loliondo area, to ensure consistent and reliable electricity.

Dr. Biteko also used the occasion to highlight the upcoming 61st Union Anniversary celebrations, calling on Tanzanians to honor the Union by fostering unity, cooperation, and collective progress.

Monduli District Commissioner, Festo Kiswaga, emphasized the district’s strong support for the ruling party and its close collaboration with citizens in executing development initiatives.

He acknowledged the government’s substantial investment in infrastructure, including roads, hospitals, and schools, and expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for prioritizing education and national development.

“This district continues to perform well, especially in the education sector. We appreciate the government's efforts in building a better future for our youth,” said Kiswaga.
