Women’s Premier League to take a break for Samia Women Super Cup

By Flora Mkoloma

The Women’s Premier League (TWPL) will take a one-week break to accommodate the Samia Women Super Cup, which kicks off today at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.

Originally, the league was scheduled to resume on March 4, following a break for the 2026 Africa Women's Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers in Morocco.

However, the league will now return on March 12, with all teams slated to play on that day.

The top four teams in the league standings will compete in this exciting three-day tournament, running from March 4 to 7. These teams are Simba Queens, JKT Queens, Yanga Princess, and Fountain Gate Princess.

The first semi-final will feature Simba Queens against JKT Queens, while the second semi-final will see Yanga Princess go head-to-head with Fountain Gate Princess at the same venue.
