The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has issued a warning to the public about scammers who are using online platforms to falsely promise job opportunities at the authority.

"Some individuals are impersonating TRA staff and claiming they can secure jobs in exchange for money," said Moshi Kabengwe, TRA's Director for Human Resources Management and Administration.

He emphasized, "All applicants will be notified directly via email," urging the public to be cautious and avoid falling for scams.

TRA received a total of 135,027 applications for various positions, and out of those, 112,952 met the qualifications for the written interview. Kabengwe explained, "We will conduct interviews at various centers across the country to make the process accessible to all shortlisted candidates."

He listed the centers as follows: Dar es Salaam Center for candidates from Dar es Salaam and the Coast Region, Zanzibar Center for candidates from Unguja and Pemba, Dodoma Center for candidates from Dodoma, Singida, Iringa, and Tabora, Mtwara Center for candidates from Mtwara, Lindi, and Ruvuma, Mbeya Center for candidates from Mbeya, Songwe, and Rukwa, Mwanza Center for candidates from Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, and Simiyu, Kagera Center for candidates from Kagera and Geita, and Kigoma Center for candidates from Kigoma and Katavi.

Kabengwe reassured the public, saying, "The entire recruitment process is being carried out transparently, under the supervision of a transaction adviser, to ensure fairness and integrity."

TRA has urged applicants to rely only on official communication channels and to avoid interacting with those making fraudulent job offers.

"We want to make sure the recruitment process is fair and accessible for all eligible candidates," Kabengwe concluded.
