The Board of Trustees of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), chaired by General (Retired) George Waitara, concluded its 209th meeting on March 14, 2025.

The meeting focused on reviewing and discussing key issues related to the organization’s development.

Ahead of the main session, various committees convened, including the Audit and Governance Committee, chaired by CPA Hadija Mohamed Ramadhani; the Legal and Conservation Management Committee, led by Dr. Robert Fyumagwa; and the Tourism and Corporate Services Committee, chaired by Dr. Rhimo Nyansaho.

All three are Board Members and heads of their respective committees.

As part of its oversight role, the Board also inspected several ongoing projects in Serengeti National Park. These include the construction of the Banagi - Lobo - Kleins Gate road (72 kilometers) and the Golini - Naabi - Seronera road (68 kilometers).

Additionally, the Board reviewed the development of the Serengeti National Park Golf Course, a project undertaken by TANAPA’s subsidiary, TANAPA Investment Limited (TIL), and the construction of the Kleins Gate, being carried out by Stance Technic and Civil Engineers Limited.
