The Chess Association of Tanzania (TACA) is set to host the TACA March Blitz Chess Championships on March 9, 2025, at the Russian Cultural Center in Dar es Salaam.
TACA's Public Relations Officer, Mussa Mangula, confirmed that preparations are in full swing to ensure a well-organized and competitive tournament.
He encouraged chess enthusiasts to register early, emphasizing that the registration deadline is March 8. The participation fee is TSh 15,000.
The competition will feature two categories: the Open Section and the Women's Section, with attractive prizes up for grabs, including cash rewards, medals, and trophies.
In the Open Section, the champion will walk away with TSh 150,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place winners will receive TSh 120,000, TSh 80,000, and TSh 50,000, respectively.
For the Women's Section, the winner will be awarded TSh 80,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will take home TSh 60,000, TSh 40,000, and TSh 30,000, respectively.
Mangula urged all interested participants to seize the opportunity and register before the deadline to allow smooth logistical preparations.
