Mwanza Volleyball Association elects new leadership

The Mwanza Regional Volleyball Association (MWAREVA) has elected new leaders who will steer the sport’s development in the region.

The elections, held yesterday in Mwanza, saw various officials voted into key positions.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, MWAREVA Secretary-General Aziz Mabele announced the results, confirming that Engineer Gerald Itimbula has been elected as Chairman, while Gadaffi Ibrahim will serve as Vice Chairman.

Other elected officials include Daniel Makinda as Assistant Secretary and Bahati Romani as Treasurer.

In the technical department, Frednand Malima has been appointed as the Technical Commissioner, Mandago Manjale as the Coaches' Commissioner, and David Neeke as the Commissioner for Youth and Schools.

Miriam Petro has secured the position of Women’s Commissioner, while Majaliwa Mayunga retains his role as Beach Volleyball Commissioner.

Additionally, Kennedy Odunga has been elected as the Referees’ Commissioner, with a confirmation on the Technical Commission appointment also made.

The new leadership is expected to enhance the growth and popularity of volleyball in Mwanza by fostering talent and improving the sport’s structure at various levels.
