Lupa MP Masache Kasaka has visited and offered support to survivors of a tragic road accident that claimed four lives and left five others injured.
The accident, which occurred in Mbeya, involved a CRN bus and a vehicle belonging to the Mbeya Regional Commissioner’s office.
Among those receiving treatment at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital are Mbeya Regional UWT Secretary Lucia Sule and journalists Epmacus Kalokola (Channel Ten), Denis George, and Seleman Ndelage.
The accident has sent shockwaves through the region, with residents mourning the loss of lives and offering prayers for the injured.
During his visit, MP Masache personally checked on the survivors, offering words of encouragement and reassurance.
He expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families, emphasizing the need for continued support as they recover.
"This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and my thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. To those injured, I pray for their quick recovery and assure them that they are not alone in this difficult time," he said.
Masache also praised the management and medical staff at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital for their prompt and effective response in treating the injured.
He noted that the availability of advanced medical equipment has played a crucial role in stabilizing patients and reducing the need for referrals outside the region.
"I want to commend the Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan for prioritizing healthcare investment.
The modern medical equipment at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services.
These improvements have made it possible for patients to receive quality treatment within the region, eliminating the burden of traveling to other hospitals for specialized care," he added.
Beyond his hospital visit, MP Masache used the opportunity to urge road users to exercise caution and strictly adhere to traffic laws to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
He called for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations to protect lives and reduce the rising number of road fatalities.
Meanwhile, families of the deceased continue to receive support from local leaders, religious groups, and members of the community as they make funeral arrangements.
