Majaliwa calls for support and care for students with special needs

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has urged students across Tanzania to love, care for, and support their peers with special needs so that they too can achieve their dreams.

He said the government has built good schools and facilities that now allow students with special needs to study and succeed, giving them the chance to attend regular schools. Therefore, it is the responsibility of other students to show kindness and offer help.

"I am very happy to see how you care for and love your classmates with special needs. Please keep this love and support so they can also fulfill their dreams," he said.

The Prime Minister made these comments today, Saturday, March 22, 2025, during a visit to Njombe Regional Girls' Secondary School in Wanging'ombe District, Njombe Region.

Majaliwa also praised the school's buildings and facilities, especially the IT systems in place.

"I am impressed with the technology in this school. Students, please take good care of it so that it can help you achieve your educational goals," he added.

He also mentioned that the government, under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has made big investments in girls' education, building large, well-equipped schools in every region.

"President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has made a great investment in education, and we are already seeing the results," he said.

Festo Dugange, the Deputy Minister of OR-TAMISEMI and Member of Parliament for Wanging'ombe, thanked President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for making the school possible, along with many other development projects like health centers, water services, and roads.

The school, which cost more than 4 billion Tanzanian Shillings, has 22 classrooms, 9 dormitories, a dining hall, a kitchen, and other important facilities. It has already enrolled 460 students in different courses.
