The Vice Chairperson of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Youth Wing (UVCCM), Rehema Sombi Omary, has urged UVCCM leaders in all regions to organize special training camps to educate young people about patriotism and national values.
She made this statement while officiating the closing ceremony of the UVCCM Kilimanjaro regional youth training camp.
Sombi praised the UVCCM Kilimanjaro leadership, led by Chairperson Ivani Moshi, for organizing the camp and providing valuable training, including mental health education.
She encouraged the trained youth to share what they have learned with others in their local communities, including wards, villages, and streets.
She also thanked the trainers for their efforts and urged them to continue educating young people about patriotism.
She highlighted that the government under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has achieved great progress by implementing development projects such as modern schools, health centers, hospitals, roads, electricity expansion, and clean water supply.
She emphasized that young people should recognize and promote these government achievements.
Sombi urged the youth to stay united, uphold the values of self-reliance, and help maintain peace in the country, as established by Tanzania’s founding leaders.
She reminded them of Article 5(1), which states, "Victory is a must," and encouraged them to actively participate in politics, not just support candidates but also run for leadership positions themselves. She also stressed the importance of voting, now that many young people have registered.
She conveyed greetings to the youth from top CCM leaders, including President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, CCM Secretary-General Ambassador Emanuel Nchimbi, UVCCM National Chairperson Comrade Mohamed Ali Kawaida, and UVCCM Secretary-General Jokate Urban Mwegelo.
The UVCCM Kilimanjaro youth training camp, which began on February 28, 2025, concluded on March 2, 2025.
A total of 708 young participants from all districts in the region received training on political awareness, ethics, economic empowerment, patriotism, mental health, the history of CCM, and leadership.
