The Power & Elec Tanzania 2025 exhibition is not only showcasing Tanzania’s progress in the energy sector but also strengthening partnerships that advance power technology and renewable energy solutions.
Engineer Mathew Matimbwi, Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA), commended the private sector’s increasing role in shaping the energy, electricity, and power industries.
“Private sector commitment is fueling innovation and expanding access to high-quality energy solutions,” he said ahead of the event.
Organized by TAREA in collaboration with ETSCIPL and supported by TCCIA, the exhibition aims to be an annual platform for addressing critical industry challenges.
Matimbwi emphasized the importance of curbing substandard products in the market. “By working with our counterparts in India and other regions, we are ensuring that Tanzanians access reliable and high-quality energy equipment,” he noted.
Advocating for a greater shift toward clean, renewable energy, Matimbwi highlighted its role in fostering a stable and productive economy.
“Sustainable energy solutions transform industries—from manufacturing to agriculture—by creating safer, more efficient workspaces,” he explained.
TAREA has long championed the adoption of safe, efficient, and sustainable energy products in Tanzania.
“From clean cooking technologies to smart energy solutions, our priority remains improving the quality of life for all Tanzanians,” he added.
The exhibition, running from February 5–7, 2025, marks just the beginning. Matimbwi also announced plans for an upcoming Energy Week in May, providing businesses and innovators with further opportunities to explore advancements in the sector.
Recognizing leadership in clean energy, he praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her dedication to promoting clean cooking energy initiatives.
“Her commitment has significantly elevated Tanzania’s clean energy agenda,” Matimbwi stated.
With growing local and international support, Power & Elec Tanzania 2025 is poised to become a transformative event, fostering technological exchange, driving investment, and solidifying Tanzania’s position as a leader in Africa’s energy revolution.
