The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, who also serves as the Government Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa, has announced that the construction of 36 government buildings in Mtumba, Dodoma, has reached 89.4% completion, with the ministry’s own building at 95%.

Speaking during a site visit on February 7, 2025, Msigwa stated that the entire project will cost TZS 738 billion upon completion, with TZS 457 billion already spent.

He further explained that after completing the office buildings, the next phase will involve developing permanent infrastructure, including hospitals, sports facilities, shopping centers, recreational spaces, places of worship, residential housing, colleges, cultural centers, and 51.2 kilometers of roads.

Msigwa also highlighted ongoing work on underground utilities such as electricity, water, communication networks, ICT systems, and security measures.

Landscaping, the creation of public gardens, and furniture procurement for the offices are also in progress.

He thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for supporting the project, emphasizing that the new offices will provide a better working environment for public servants and improve efficiency.

The construction is expected to be completed by March this year.

Three buildings—housing the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance), and the Ministry of Water—are already finished and in use.
