Development stakeholders in Tanzania are being urged to step forward and support the upcoming "Hongera Samia Event," a forum dedicated to congratulating President Samia Suluhu Hassan, which is set to take place on February 27, 2025, at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam.

The event is being organized by the Jamii Foundation in partnership with women from Dar es Salaam, with Coliber First Group as the main sponsor.

During a press briefing in Dar es Salaam on February 7, 2025, Jamii Foundation Director Jakline Marwa stated that the primary goal of the event is to celebrate President Samia’s remarkable achievements and to commend her for earning the trust to run for re-election in the upcoming general elections in October 2025.

She emphasized that the foundation, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is coming together to honor President Samia’s accomplishments during her tenure.

“There is so much she has accomplished, which has driven substantial progress in the country.

While I can’t list everything, some notable achievements include the economic growth, improved access to water and energy, gender equality advancements, infrastructure development, increased investment, and a significant reduction in maternal mortality,” Marwa said.

Over 1,000 participants are expected to attend the event, with Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila slated to be the guest of honor.

Sylvia Mkomwa, the Executive Director of Coliber First Group, the main sponsor of the event, expressed her enthusiasm for supporting the initiative.

She highlighted that their collaboration with Jamii Foundation aims to foster a safer, more prosperous community.

“We are excited to join forces with Jamii Foundation to organize this event in recognition of President Samia’s incredible achievements.

As stakeholders, we must continue to support her and her efforts for the betterment of the country,” said Sylvia.

Asha George, the Chairperson of Mbezi Beach Ward, shared that President Samia had received an award for reducing maternal mortality, a significant achievement for the nation.

She dedicated the award to all healthcare professionals across the country, urging them to keep working towards completely eliminating maternal deaths.
