The District Commissioner of Kilosa, Shaka Hamdu Shaka, has urged residents to seize the opportunity presented by carbon trading, describing it as a key pathway to economic liberation for both villages and the district as a whole.

Speaking at the opening of a forest harvesting committee meeting at the district council hall, Shaka emphasized the immense potential of carbon trading as a source of wealth, highlighting the positive outcomes that have already begun to emerge from the initiative.

Kilosa District, which initially launched carbon trading as a pilot project, has seen promising results, confirming the viability of this new market.

Shaka expressed his strong belief that the district will set an exemplary standard in managing its natural resources for sustainable development.

"I have full confidence in your ability to lead the transformation by protecting and utilizing our resources wisely. This is an opportunity that, if embraced, will bring significant benefits to our communities," he stated.
