Airtel Tanzania has announced its partnership
with the Trace Awards and Summit 2025,
set to take place at Mora Resort in
Zanzibar from February 24 to 26, 2025. The collaboration was revealed
ahead of the highly anticipated three-day event, which will celebrate Afro-music, innovation, and culture,
bringing together some of Africa’s biggest music icons.
“The Trace
Awards and Summit is a globally recognized platform that celebrates
creative talent while driving digital connectivity in Africa. Our partnership
aligns seamlessly with ‘SmartaWithData’,
Airtel Tanzania’s campaign that empowers customers to make smarter data
choices, manage their usage effectively, and enjoy seamless online experiences
with greater control and value,” said Chogo.
She added that the collaboration reflects the shared vision of Airtel and Trace in providing young people with the tools and platforms they need to express themselves, connect with opportunities, and thrive in the digital era.
As part of the partnership, Tanzania will host the Trace Tour, following its successful stops in Kenya and other Airtel markets. This initiative promises an unparalleled experience for both artists and fans, further reinforcing Airtel’s commitment to enriching Africa’s entertainment and digital landscape.
“Data is a gateway to music, education, business, and entertainment,” Chogo noted. “With SmartaWithData, we are committed to helping our users maximize their data experience while staying seamlessly connected.”
On his part, Trace East Africa Managing Director, Danny Mucira, highlighted
music’s power in uniting cultures, noting that Trace has long been a champion
of African music, talent, and culture.
“Music is a universal language, and alongside Airtel, we are creating real opportunities for emerging musicians by equipping them with the digital tools and audience reach they need to succeed in today’s world,” said Mucira.
Adding to the conversation, Serengeti Managing Director, Dr. Obi
Anyalebechi, emphasized the event’s
impact on Tanzania’s tourism sector, noting that it will draw global
audiences and further position the country as a top travel destination.
“Tourism is a key pillar of Tanzania’s
economy, and the goal is to increase
annual visitors from 3 million to 10 million by 2030. Hosting an event
of this scale will not only attract international guests but also boost
Tanzania’s visibility worldwide, encouraging more travelers to explore the
country and contribute to its growing tourism industry,” he stated.
The Trace
Awards and Summit 2025, powered by Airtel Tanzania, is set to be a landmark event celebrating the
intersection of music, culture, and
digital innovation, with Zanzibar as the vibrant backdrop for this unforgettable celebration of African
