The Minister of Finance, Mwigulu Nchemba, has called for a renewed sense of self-discipline and ambition among citizens, emphasising that the mindset of refusing to settle for poverty and taking responsibility for progress is vital for individual and national success. He noted that often, people are quick to complain and point fingers at others while overlooking their potential to drive change.
Speaking at the recent launch of the book The Magnets of Good Fortune: A Common Guide to Success by Dr. Moses Mwizarubi, Mwigulu highlighted how the publication serves as an invaluable tool to inspire not only personal growth but also the collective advancement of Africa as a whole. The launch, held in Dar es Salaam and supported by the Uongozi Institute's publishing arm, was an event filled with optimism and intellectual celebration.
Dr Moses Mwizarubi, Assistant Governor of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), has dedicated over a decade to serving the central bank. His book, described as a guide to success, has been praised for its ability to ignite a thirst for achievement and cultivate the discipline needed for long-term progress. Mwigulu underscored the importance of individual efforts in complementing collective development, urging Tanzanians to embrace the principles laid out in the book.
Prominent figures from various sectors attended the launch to celebrate Dr Mwizarubi’s accomplishment and support his vision for development. Among the attendees were BoT Governor Emmanuel M. Tutuba, Deputy Governors Ms Sauda Mwema and Dr. Yamungu Kayandabila, Erick Shigongo, a renowned novelist and Director of Global Publishers, as well as Dr Mwizarubi’s parents, wife, and other dignitaries from banking and private institutions.
Mwigulu noted that the book encapsulates essential lessons for success, including the value of self-control, creativity, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence. He applauded the author for creating a resource that not only inspires personal ambition but also aligns with the broader goal of fostering a culture of self-discipline and accountability within society.
Mathematician and celebrated book enthusiast Joramu Nkumbi also lauded The Magnets of Good Fortune, describing it as a treasure trove of insights for personal growth. He highlighted the book’s focus on attributes like wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and the spirit of excellence, which he believes are crucial for unlocking an individual's full potential.
As the launch came to a close, Mwigulu urged the community to cultivate a habit of reading and writing, emphasising that these practices are cornerstones of societal development.
