Yanga sets sights on revival in CAF champions league

Tanzania's Young Africans SC (Yanga) departed today for Lubumbashi, DR Congo, ahead of their third match in the CAF Champions League group stage.

The team is set to face TP Mazembe this Saturday at Stade TP Mazembe, seeking to revive their campaign in the competition.

Yanga enters the match with the weight of two consecutive defeats, having lost 2-0 at home to Al Hilal and suffering a similar 2-0 loss away to MC Alger in Algeria. Despite the tough start, the team remains determined to change their fortunes in the group stage.

According to Yanga’s Media Officer, Ally Kamwe, the team will have two days of training in Lubumbashi to finalize their preparations. Kamwe expressed optimism, noting that 90% of the squad is in good shape and ready for the critical encounter.

“We still have 12 points to fight for in the remaining four matches, starting with this Saturday’s game. We haven’t given up yet. The battle continues as we aim for positive results in the games ahead,” Kamwe said.

Yanga’s players and technical bench remain focused, determined to put their previous losses behind them and deliver a performance that keeps their hopes alive in the prestigious continental tournament.
