Da es Salaam: Simba SC has departed Tanzania for Algeria to face CS Constantine in their second CAF Confederation Cup group stage match, scheduled for December 8, 2024.

This crucial game comes after Simba secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Bravos do Maquis in their opening match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on November 27.

Constantine, who also won their first match away from home, will be a tough challenge, with both teams vying to dominate the group standings.

A Simba official confirmed that preparations are on track, with the team traveling early to acclimatize to the cold weather in Algeria.

The club’s coordinator has already arrived in the country to oversee the final arrangements. "We are leaving early to adapt to the environment and prepare thoroughly for Sunday’s game," the official stated.

Simba is determined to secure at least a draw, if not a win, to build confidence ahead of their December 15 home game against a Tunisian opponent.

The traveling squad features a solid mix of experience and young talent. Goalkeepers Moussa Camara, Aishi Manula, and Ally Salim form the backbone of the team’s defense.

In the backline, Che Fondoh Malone, Karaboue Chamou, Abdurazak Hamza, Shomari Kapombe, Mohamed Hussein, Valentine Nouma, and Kelvin Kijili have been tasked with protecting Simba’s goal.

The midfield will be anchored by players such as Mzamiru Yassin, Debora Fernandes, Ladaki Chasambi, Augustine Okejepha, Omary Omary, Edwin Balua, Kibu Denis, Jean Charles Ahoua, and Awesu Awesu.

Leading the attack are forwards Leonel Ateba and Steven Mukwala, who will look to capitalize on scoring opportunities and put pressure on the Constantine defense.

Simba’s camp remains optimistic, with a clear focus on maintaining their strong start to the tournament.

Fans across Tanzania are rallying behind their team, hoping for another impressive performance from the "Wekundu wa Msimbazi" on the continental stage.
