International representatives Simba SC face a tough test today as they take on Algeria’s CS Constantine in their second group stage match of the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCCL). The game is set for December 8, 2024, in Algeria.
Simba began their campaign on a high note, securing a 1-0 home victory against Bravos on November 27 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking ahead of the match, Simba head coach Fadlu Davids expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and determination to fight for a positive result against the Algerian side.
“Our squad is in great shape for today’s game. We’ve had our final training session to fine-tune everything before stepping onto the pitch,” said Davids. “We expect a tough match, but we’re prepared to give our all and aim for a positive outcome.”
Simba defender Leonel Ateba echoed his coach’s sentiments, acknowledging the challenge ahead but emphasizing the team’s focus and determination to secure points away from home.
Former Simba chairman Hassan Dalali also shared his thoughts, highlighting the importance of the match.
“The game will be tough, but the players must recognize their responsibility and fight hard to win away. We believe in this young, talented team and are confident they’ll bring home three points,” said Dalali.
Dalali further urged fans to continue supporting Simba both at home and abroad, noting that their backing motivates the team to deliver positive results.
Meanwhile, Simba’s rivals Yanga SC are struggling in the CAF Champions League after suffering a 2-0 away loss to MC Alger last night in Algeria. This defeat follows a similar 2-0 loss to Al Hilal of Sudan on December 26, 2024, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Simba will aim to carry the nation’s hopes tonight and maintain their momentum as they battle for supremacy in the CAF Confederation Cup.
