Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is set to be the guest of honor at the highly anticipated international boxing event, Knockout Ya Mama, scheduled to take place on December 26, 2024, at the Super Dome in Masaki, Dar es Salaam.

According to Ally Zayumba, Director of Mafia Boxing Promotion, preparations for the event are complete, with the primary goal of supporting President Samia Suluhu Hassan's initiatives to promote sports development in Tanzania.

Zayumba revealed that international competitors, coaches, and referees are arriving in Tanzania today ahead of the event.

“Preparations are going smoothly, and this will be the year’s final boxing showcase. The weigh-in ceremony will be held on December 25 at Coco Beach. We encourage Tanzanians to come out in large numbers to support the event,” he stated.

The event will feature 13 thrilling matches, involving both local and international boxers, competing for five championship belts.

“For the first time in the country, a Tanzanian boxer, Yohana Mchanja, will fight for the prestigious World Boxing Organization (WBO) title against a Filipino contender,” Zayumba added.

Kinondoni District Commissioner Said Mtambule assured the public that security measures are in place to ensure the event runs smoothly.

“We are fully prepared, and our youth are determined to keep all the championship belts in Tanzania,” he said.

Mtambule urged residents of Kinondoni and Dar es Salaam to attend the event in large numbers to witness the historic matches.

The Knockout Ya Mama event promises to be a landmark occasion, showcasing Tanzania’s growing stature in international boxing and ending the year on a high note.
