DABA to hold crucial boxing stakeholders’ meeting on December 9

The Dar es Salaam Boxing Association (DABA) has organized a significant meeting for December 9, 2024, to be held at the Regional Commissioner’s Hall in Dar es Salaam. 

The meeting, convened by DABA’s Executive Committee, aims to chart the way forward for boxing in the region.

Speaking about the event, DABA Secretary General Wamboi Mangore emphasized its importance, noting that it will bring together key stakeholders, including club leaders, trainers, and boxing enthusiasts. 

“Boxing in Tanzania has its roots firmly in Dar es Salaam, and this year marks 60 years since the founding of DABA,” Mangore said.

The meeting’s primary focus will be to deliberate on strategies for revitalizing the sport and addressing the challenges facing boxing in the region. Mangore stressed the importance of collaboration, calling on all stakeholders to participate actively.

“This is a critical moment for boxing in Dar es Salaam,” Mangore added. “We need to come together to develop well-thought-out plans that will ensure the growth and sustainability of the sport.”

He also highlighted the role of DABA in nurturing talent and enhancing the profile of boxing in Tanzania, urging stakeholders to seize the opportunity to shape the sport’s future.

The meeting promises to be a vital platform for dialogue, innovation, and decision-making, with the aim of strengthening the sport’s foundation and fostering new opportunities for growth.
