The first Santa Mizawadi draw was successfully conducted on December 24, just in time to bring festive joy to Airtel customers.
Winners of the week’s draw were announced live under the supervision of the Gaming Board, marking the start of a promotion that runs until January 10, 2025.
Jackson Mmbando, Airtel’s Head of Corporate Communication and PR, explained that no registration is required for the Santa Mizawadi promotion.
Customers are automatically entered into the draw with every transaction they make.
The draw’s transparency was ensured as a randomly selected customer was contacted in real-time from Airtel’s official number, 100, witnessed by media representatives.
Mmbando further clarified the rules: winners are called three times, and if there is no response, the process continues until a responsive winner is found.
Josephine Modeste Mgalula, a stationery shop owner from Nzega, Mwanza, was thrilled to win a Smart 5G router. “At first, I didn’t believe it because of the scams you hear about these days. But now, I’m very thankful. This will help with my business,” she said excitedly.
Another lucky winner, Omari Ramadhani Kidugula from Shinyanga, was overjoyed to receive an iTel A80 Smartphone.
“I’ve always tried but never won. I’ve been using an old phone like a Matchbox. Now I can finally retire it,” he said with laughter during a call.
The draw for the coveted motorcycle prize had to be conducted twice due to unresponsive winners. However, the prize eventually went to Fatma Mwachoyo Mwandege, a tailor from Majumba Sita in Ilala, Dar es Salaam.
“I can’t believe it! This is such a blessing. Thank you, Airtel. I wish others would come back to Airtel for opportunities like this,” she said joyfully.
Another delighted winner, Halima Kimaro from Shinyanga, was awarded a Smart TV with a 4K display. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw a call from Airtel. Now my living room is beaming with happiness,” she said with excitement.
Andrew Gaston Chihona, a boda-boda rider from Ifakara, Morogoro, received a cash prize worth TZS 1 million.
“I didn’t even know I was in a promotion. I use Airtel Money all the time for my transactions. This is such a surprise—thank you, Airtel, for making my holidays unforgettable!”
Despite these successes, Airtel noted that over seven customers missed their chance at prizes due to unanswered calls or hang-ups from number 100. Under the watchful supervision of the Gaming Board, led by Ms. Anna, the rules are clear: only customers who answer calls from Airtel’s number 100 are eligible to claim prizes.
Mmbando emphasized the importance of vigilance, urging customers to avoid scammers and reminding them that all official calls are made exclusively from the number 100. “This promotion continues, and winners can be called at any time. Always answer calls from number 100,” he reiterated.
The Airtel Santa Mizawadi promotion continues to spread holiday cheer, promising more surprises and life-changing prizes for its loyal customers.
