President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has praised the peaceful and orderly voting process during the Local Government elections, highlighting it as a testament to the nation’s democratic maturity.
In her remarks, President Samia lauded Tanzanians for upholding peace while exercising their voting rights, calling for transparency in the announcement of results. She emphasized that the outcomes must reflect the true will of the people as expressed at the ballot box.
"I urge everyone to ensure that this atmosphere of peace continues until the entire voting process is completed. The counting of votes should also be conducted with the same calmness and integrity," President Samia stated.
She underscored that peaceful elections are a hallmark of Tanzania’s democratic tradition and political culture. The President urged vote counters and election officials to carry out their responsibilities diligently, ensuring security and fairness throughout the process.
President Samia also encouraged voters to maintain unity and cooperation as the process unfolds. She expressed confidence that the elections would conclude successfully, with leaders elected at the local, village, and sub-village levels who will serve effectively over the next five years.
She further reminded election supervisors and officials to uphold justice and fairness to safeguard the nation’s peace and stability.
