Farmers in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, face ongoing challenges transporting their produce to market due to the deteriorated state of the Mpolo-Ihanga road, which disrupts their ability to complete the agricultural value chain.
Mbarali, widely known for its significant rice production, depends on reliable road networks to facilitate the movement of this crucial crop.
Addressing this issue, Bahati Ndingo, Member of Parliament for Mbarali Constituency, has pledged to address the infrastructure concerns voiced by residents. During his recent tour across all 18 wards in the constituency, Ndingo observed that water, road, and electricity issues were the most pressing concerns raised by citizens.
As part of his commitment, Ndingo has donated TZS 600,000 towards the immediate repairs needed on the Mpolo-Ihanga road section. This initial support aims to ease transportation and ensure that farmers can bring their produce to market more efficiently.
While speaking to residents in Muungano Village, Ndingo reassured them of his dedication to finding long-term solutions to the area's infrastructure challenges. "Improving our roads is essential to economic growth and community welfare," he stated, emphasizing his goal of enabling residents to travel and conduct their daily activities with ease.
