President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has provided over TZS 24 billion to support key development projects in Namtumbo District, Ruvuma Region.

The projects focus on agriculture, health, education, electricity, and water aim to improve the community's quality of life.

During the launch of local government election campaigns in Namtumbo on November 21, 2024, Hon. Judith Kapinga, the Youth MP for Ruvuma Region and Deputy Minister of Energy, praised President Samia’s commitment. She highlighted the visible progress made in these projects.

“Our government, led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has consistently funded projects that bring growth to our communities,” Kapinga stated.

She explained that these funds support the construction of a girls' school, village electrification, educational improvements, healthcare, agriculture, and water facilities. The district is also receiving new police and court buildings.

On rural electrification, Kapinga noted that over 12,000 villages across Tanzania are now connected to electricity. She stated that this achievement is part of fulfilling the promises in the CCM Party’s manifesto. “This success shows how committed our government is to improving people’s lives,” she said.

Kapinga also used the event to encourage citizens to vote in the upcoming local elections on November 27, 2024. She urged people to choose leaders who would work hard to implement CCM policies and wisely manage government funds for the community’s benefit.

In her message to the future leaders, Kapinga emphasized service and commitment. “Go and live among the people, listen to them, and solve their problems. Respectfully ask for votes because President Samia has achieved so much for the people, and her progress is visible it needs no flashlight,” she said.

Kapinga also mentioned the government’s Clean Cooking Energy campaign, noting that a modern cooking stove has been installed in the new girls’ secondary school in Namtumbo.
