The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) Western Zone office has today, October 11, 2024, handed over 50 desks to Kiloleni Primary School in Tabora Municipality.

The donation is set to benefit 150 students, helping to alleviate the challenge of inadequate seating in classrooms. Kiloleni Primary School, registered as P1903011, has been operating since 1970.

The headmaster of Kiloleni, Mr. Rajabu Kiama, expressed deep appreciation for EWURA's contribution. He noted that the desks would significantly improve the learning environment for students.

"The leadership of the school extends its heartfelt thanks to EWURA for addressing the issue of desk shortages. These 50 desks will give 150 students a more comfortable place to learn," said Mr. Kiama.

Speaking on behalf of EWURA, Getrude Mbiling’i, the Customer Service Officer for the Western Zone, handed over the desks and advised the students to maintain the furniture responsibly.

She also used the occasion to educate students on the safe and proper use of electricity and cooking gas, while informing them of EWURA’s role in handling consumer complaints in the energy and water sectors.

Kiloleni Primary School is one of the oldest schools in the Mapambano Ward of Tabora Municipality. It currently serves 1,050 students—520 boys and 530 girls—with a teaching staff of 13.
