In just three years under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, Nyakafulu Ward has received TZS 3 billion for development projects.
Geita Regional Commissioner, Martin Shigella, announced this during a visit to the Isanjabadugu mining site in Nyakafulu, Mbogwe District. He praised the small-scale miners for their efforts.
“You are doing a great job. Keep working hard and continue contributing to the district’s and the nation’s economy,” Shigella told the miners.
Shigella highlighted the importance of small-scale miners to the region’s revenue. “Your work is crucial. The income you generate benefits the local government and supports national development,” he said.
The Regional Commissioner also inspected various development projects in the district. These projects are expected to be visited by the *Mwenge wa Uhuru*, the Freedom Torch, which symbolizes unity and development across Tanzania.
“These projects are important for the progress of Nyakafulu. We are preparing for the *Mwenge wa Uhuru* to come here and celebrate the success we have achieved,” Shigella added.
In his speech, Shigella encouraged the community to invest in education. He urged parents to ensure their children go to school, using the income they earn from mining and other work.
“With the income you earn, make sure your children get an education. This is the key to long-term development,” he said.
The TZS 3 billion provided to Nyakafulu is part of the government’s ongoing effort to improve infrastructure and services in rural areas. These funds will be used for a variety of projects, including schools, healthcare, and water supply systems.
“The government is committed to developing this region. The progress we see in Nyakafulu is proof of that,” Shigella concluded.
The funds are expected to make a big difference in the lives of local residents, boosting economic growth and improving living standards in Nyakafulu.
